"And be alone with you? That seems a dangerous prospect at best." Nari rose to her feet, stumbling as the ship shuddered underneath her. It was strange, walking on the airship- and he hadn't even started flying yet. There was the strange sensation that she was meant to be falling, like her feet weren't touching the ground and her heart wanted to leap into her throat.
"I still don't think they'll come willingly." Steadying herself on the back of the chair, Nari traversed back to the lift that had brought her and Balthier onto the ship in the first place. As soon as it opened a torrent of wind ripped through the cracks, whipping her hair around her face. Slitting her amber eyes against the gale, Nari crouched for stability- smirking at the two fair hunters on the ground.
"Oiiii! You getting on?" Aedan glared at the dark haired girl on the lift, he had been ready to whip out his gun-lance and take a few shots at the air-ship if that was what it took to stop Balthier from flying away. For all he knew it might still be necessary, so he kept his hand on the hilt of his weapon.
"Land that ship immediately! You are breaking the kings law!" Nari rolled her eyes dramatically, the amber gleaming in the morning light- like disks of gold set in pure cream. There was something predatory about the way she held herself, crouched for all the world like a Nargacuga ready to pounce.
"Wow, you really aren't any fun are you? Fine. But you'll have to come up here and tell Balthier yourself- the man doesn't listen to me." Aislyn had turned to soothe the master of the manse, but something in the words Nari had used made her turn back to the ship. She could see the grim line of Aedan's mouth as his hand gripped the edge of the platform, the muscles moving in his arms as he pulled himself up onto the circular platform.
"Wait!" Aislyn hurried after him, catching the platform at the last possible second. Aedan lunged to catch her hand, grunting at the strain of lifting both her and her weapons onto the lift. Nari leaned in to help, and soon they were all panting on the circular platform.
"Are you mad!?" Aedan rolled over, blue eyes snapping like ice. She had never seen him this angry before.
"We have-get-ff" The wind stole the words from her lips, and it was too late by the time she saw the recognition fall across Aedans face. The platform slid into place- the wind cutting off in an abrupt and disorienting silence. Like a bubble had been wrapped around her head.
If Aedan had been angry before, now he was simply furious. Nari could see the intent in his eyes, the white knuckled grip he had on his weapon as he turned towards the pilots seat. She acted on instinct.
Aedan grunted as a lithe black form plowed into his back- they fell in a clatter of armor and weapons, neither one able to reach the hilt of their preferred weapons in the flurry of limbs and the press of plate on hide.
"Balthier! Fly!-oof" Nari winced as one plated elbow thudded into the center of her stomach, knocking the breath from her lungs.
