Alexander had his hands around his wife's eyes as the airship lowered to a clear space before the small church. It was untouched by noble greed, free to the middle and lower glass citizens to pray at, to worship the Gods which seemingly made them equal.
She had a grip on their new puppy, Bandit, and he felt assured now as they came closer to the grounds. It was crumbling with age, but was a respected holy place. In time, it would be rebuilt, restored to its glory.
"No peaking." He muttered into her ear, guiding her still up a set of stone stairs and through a pair of double doors. It wasn't the inside which he was interested in, no, it was the hidden place beyond the church. So, outside he led her, in the back of the church until they passed a near hidden grove. A wall of ivy covered the narrow entrance, a clever trick.
Once through the curtain of ivy, Alexander continued to push her forward until they were in the middle of a clearing. Tall trees outlined a circle the size of the church itself, the canopy only let in streams of light which came down in thin pale beams. Wildflowers bloomed here and there, with plentiful fruit bushes and trees just close to the outline.
This was his favorite place. A place of quiet in an otherwise busy world. Where even the poor could take what they needed when times were hard.
"Open." He whispered, mere inches from where she stood. "I found this when I went out on my own, its hidden from above with the trees, so no one knows its here."
