Every thing about this damned place made him feel as if he did not belong. The high arched ceilings, the gold trimmed façades, right down to the delicately dressed ladies and handsomely dressed men. It didn't matter that in his silver armor, with perhaps a little bit more grace, he would have looked wonderful in those elaborate halls, he simply just... did not fit in.
And that feeling was what made him stick out like a sore thumb. Stiffly greeting those who curiously met with them, barely saying more then two words strung together. Hardly the best of conversationalists. Aislyn was likewise quiet, though in her case it had more to do with her crippling shyness and the sheer number of people in the palace. Didn't they all have anything better to do then gawk at the foreigners?
Nari, following easily behind Balthier like a silent shadow, quickly relaxed. The tension dropped out of her shoulders, her eyes softened like molten gold-
She had never been somewhere quite so elaborate before.
It was with a curious mind that she poked her head into any rooms with open doors, merely looking and appreciating the splendour around her. Needless to say she garnered quite a few strange stares- and at least one door slammed in her face, to which she gave the door an affronted look and moved on to the next object of interest. She was similarly staring at the extremely tall man in front of them, words that were easy to see on the tip of her tongue. How does a man manage to grow that huge
The group followed Balthier and Quenari silently, Nari longing to see more of the palace and explore the branching hallways and rooms with closed doors, Aislyn wishing she could sink in to the floor and disappear. And Aedan, who wanted nothing more then to leave the palace, pull out his lance and slaughter some poor beast to relieve his frustration.
