For the zillionth time, the redhead's gaze trailed towards Victor and Ada while Paddy went on about some story behind a quite beautiful piece of art that, to be honest, Elisa had not taken her time to appreciate. It bothered her that Ada kept on trying to touch him, and though she isn't particularly the jealous type, it simply didn't feel right. She was trying to keep Paddy and Ada away, and that was supposed to be good, something a good friend would do, but she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was making a mistake. Irritated, that was more like it, she was very much annoyed.
"Don't you think so, Elisa?" Her name being called out claimed her attention, and she turned her head back to meet Paddy's inquisitive stare.
"I'm sorry, what?" She asked.
Paddy glanced past her and at the black haired man. He couldn't stop himself from pulling a face when doing so. Where did that guy even come from? He didn't like him.
"I suppose it is safe to presume that he is your boyfriend?" He asked, trying so hard to sound indifferent but miserably failing. He hoped with all his might she'd say no.
Elisa saw that very expectation on his eyes and she lowered hers for a moment. Ah, she felt guilty again. Honestly, though, she didn't actually owe him any explanation. As far as she knew, they hadn't been dating before she had met Victor, and she had simply fallen in love once she had done so. She couldn't blame herself for that. Understanding that didn't ease her guilt, but it allowed her to look him in the eyes and reply.
"He is" She nodded.
"Ah" Paddy exhaled, and to that single exclamation a long silence followed "You should go to him then, it doesn't seem very fair to me that I get to have you to myself. Besides, he doesn't seem to be handling Ada very well" He chuckled, but it was strained and non-convincing. He was a nice guy, and Elisa knew that, she had liked that trait about him after all. Maybe, if she hadn't taken that book from the library ... But she had, and she didn't regret it one bit "Come on then, I think I'm grown enough to deal with my ex on my own" He grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her along.
"Well, there are a lot of other things you can also appreciate" Ada purred. She didn't give up easily, and she'd have ... "Oh!" Paddy curled his fingers around her wrist.
"Alright, that's enough, leave the poor man alone" He took her away from Victor and Elisa, with Ada whining feather noisily.
Elisa followed them briefly with her sight, still mildly concerned, before she diverted her gaze to look at Victor. She flashed him an apologetic smile and grabbed his hands with hers.
"Gosh, I'm really sorry. She's just too ... " She shook her hair "Sorry, I know it's not a valid argument but I had to keep them apart"
Adam found it strange to have been offered help to put on the clothes that had been chosen for him, though he did understand her reasons. Those weren't attires he had wore before, but he was much too proud to ask for any help, if only because he'd feel rather silly in doing so.
"I will keep that in mind, thank you" He stated, and pecked Rebecca's cheek before flashing her a smile and disappearing behind the curtain he had been led to.
judging by what he had remembered to see on the humanoid plastic things displayed outside, he buttoned a white shirt first before he slid on a dark blueish vest as well as a jacket and trousers that matched it in colour. He had been right, those were less tighter than the jeans from before. Would Rebeca consider it nice? He really wanted to loo good for his lady after all. After taking one last look of himself in the mirror, Adam stepped out.
"I think I'm done?" He sure hoped he wouldn't embarras himself for wearing the attire wrong.
